Bridal showers, baby sprinkles, bachelorette parties, girls' night in... we love our all-girl parties but let's face it, coming up with party favors is always kind of a drag. It's either buy cheap junk at the dollar store that will get tossed, spend a ton of money for something that will probably never get used, or make your own, and really... who has time for that?!
BUT these lavender bath salts are the perfect solution! With only a couple ingredients required, they are very quick and easy to make and only cost pennies per jar. It's a perfect gift of relaxation that all of your guests will love.
Glass jars (where to buy)
Epsom Salt, plain
Lavender Essential Oil (where to buy)
Dried flowers, crushed (optional)
Recipe tags (print out mine or make your own)
Pour your Epsom salt and baking soda into a large glass bowl; the ratio is 1 teaspoon baking soda per 1/2 cup Epsom salt.
Add in about 8 drops of the essential oil per 1/2 cup of Epsom salt. You might need less oil if you are making a large batch. I actually only added 4-5 drops essential oil per every 1 cup of Epsom salt and it was enough. You may also choose to add some dried crushes flowers. Mix well with large spoon.
Scope your mixture into small glass jars and screw on the lids. Tip: Children enjoy this step! Find a couple to do this part for you. Take a tea break.
Print out recipe tags so your guests can reuse the jar and make their own salts later. Cut out the tags. Punch a hole in the upper left corner and thread a piece of ribbon through, tying it to the top of the jar.
Make sure to keep at least 1 jar for yourself. Fill up the tub with warm water and enjoy a nice relaxing (and detoxing!) bath. You deserve it!
P.S. If don't have any essential oils yet, make sure to visit the Essential Oils tab and get yourself a Premium Starter Kit. Not only is it a great deal on high quality and pure essential oils, but it also comes with Lavender AND a bunch of other oils that would work perfectly to change up this recipe (StessAway anyone?).
